The Berti cutlers have manufactured knives since  1895 and have continued to do so without interruption.

Such a wide range of styles and models is only possible when, for more than a hundred years, one has been producing the knives that disappeared from their land of origin after Italian unification. From that time on, Scarperia, a famous centre for the production of cutting blades since the XIV century, has become the custodian of the tradition of Italian regional knives.

The characteristic workmanship of Scarperia has never changed, remaining exclusively a manual craft. This is why Scarperia knives, after a long period in which they appeared to be distanced by the new industrial techniques, now constitute a legacy of a lively and thriving tradition.
